6.14.11 McCloud River Fishing Report.

Flows went up to 450, but the bite was still on.  For the last four days  we all experienced some great dry fly fishing.   Lots of smiles on the McCloud river.

Green drakes, pmds and the Golden Stones.  Under the indicator it was all about the Freestyle Walkers.  Chuck get tying buddy, I need those Green Drakes and McPts asap!

PG&E warned us it would spill. Its at 450 at Ah Di Na. Above is the Meat Hole.

Sand Hill Cranes nesting in the McCloud’s Squaw Valley. I see some great things on the drive in.

Joe’s rainbow looks camouflaged against the background.

Watch where you step! The snakes are out, and so are the crowds, the last four days were very busy on the river.

David Price has cast thousands of cast over my head and still never hooked me.

Green Drakes!!! These McCloud fish just love them.  Fancy casting Andy.

Thanks so much for coming out Charlie.  I had a great time fishing with you.

One of a 1/2 dozen small McCloud River Brown trout Charlie caught in 2 days.  These Brown trout make up about 5% of the fish population in the McCloud river.  Seeing a good number of smaller fish means a good number of bigger fish in a couple years.
