Last few weeks I’ve been on the river.  Sick with Steelhead fever.  No matter how many I farmed, caught, or photographed I still couldn’t shake the virus.  Now recent rains have brought the end of the season.  This fish, a highlight, ate a swung fly just after dawn.

All we needed was a little rain in Southern Oregon to spark off some great steelhead fishing. With some proper planning and placement we were right where we needed to be for the push.

2.28.12. Before the storm.

We drove home through torrential rain, howling winds and an ominous blizzard. The rivers are low and in need of this weather but we are glad we had the day before it came. We are not done with the steelhead yet! I am so looking forward to the next month of fishing!!!!

12.18.11.Rogue River Fishing Report

The upper stretches of the Rogue is always a good place to hunt for a nice winter fish. Overall the fishing was a bit slow, but some days its all about a few nice fish like this hen. Plan a trip as soon as we see some rain. The best is yet to come.
