The McCloud river kept us busy this last week. She has been fishing well. Lots of smaller fish looking up for dries, and yet another big brown comes to the net. This one was just under 23″. Lots of Photos here, Check em out!

What a awesome river! I made it up twice so far this summer and hoping to get in at least one more trip. Chris thanks again. Andy always a pleasure! But the real hero of this trip is Rose, Great gift!!! She hired Rich Zellman www.steelheadwater.com for 2 days for Chris’ birthday and Rich was cool enough to throw in a third day for free. We all got to take advantage of Rich’s knowledge and he comes highly recommended by yours truly. I have been humbled here a few times and Rich strait up had the know how to put fish on my line. I was impressed, Thanks Rich!

My old friend Jonathan was hosting a ski racing camp in Mount Hood for disabled athletes. When he asked me to row a raft for them down the Deschutes I couldn’t say no. It was pleasure to row a raft for these guys, and holy sh#$ did we have some fun.

An opportunity at big summer steelhead is all I needed to hear. Sam Sickles of Steelhead Outfitters in Portland, OR. gave me a great spey casting lesson and had me throwing over some awesome water. He had a lot to teach me about swinging flies, so much I forgot everything I already knew. Thanks Sam, I’ll be seeing you again.

I had a great time fishing with Hutch on the McCloud. The conversation was awesome and I soaked up so much information. This guy is a really knowledgable fisherman. I bet Orvis feels lucky to have him on board. I look forward to the next time I see you buddy. Thanks for all your help!!!!!

2 days on 2 rivers, Trout fishing in Mt. Shasta, CA. An epic dry fly bite had us out late on Monday. I served dinner instead of lunch, and after dinner… we went fishing.
