A play day on the Lower Sac. We skipped Redding and went South, out of the smoke and out of the crowds. Super fun day with this crew.
We strolled out for a morning fishing session from Ash camp and when we returned to the cars the camp ground was empty. A forest service employee came down and politely asked us to vacate due to a wild fire closing in. So we packed up and went to the Upper Sac.
The Sharer family has been fishing together with us for about 6 years. They are great fun and a joy to spend the day on the river with. Emma caught the most fish again and I was accused of favoring her in my guiding. Thanks to Jim Roberts for helping us out.
Better lucky than good or lucky we are good? Statistically we are the best choice for big fish on this river.
The McCloud has been giving us some great fishing trips and I have been too busy to keep up with the postings. Here is a bundle of photos from some great trips. Thanks everyone! Hope to fish with you again soon. Continue Reading →
Its time for some of the big bows to be caught. Aug. Sept and Oct. can be some of the best big fish fishing of the year on the Sacramento river. The water is still up high and we love fishing the caddis hatches at theses flows.
The McCloud river kept us busy this last week. She has been fishing well. Lots of smaller fish looking up for dries, and yet another big brown comes to the net. This one was just under 23″. Lots of Photos here, Check em out!
