Roger got two big browns today. Both Loch Levens one was 21″ and the other was just over 25″. Though we caught these two monsters under an indicator today was all about the dry fly. Continue Reading →
15 minutes of crazy fishing. Sometimes the whole day is about a short window of opportunity. On lake Siskiyou there is about a 15 minute window where every fish in the lake seems to be busting surface. Continue Reading →
We are not big fish snobs.
But we do target them. Continue Reading →
Guess what? Trout will eat dry flies mid day, mid summer. And as we found out today its really hard to spoil a day when fish are looking up.
You all remember Dexter. Well he’s at it again. This kid loves to fish. Awesome seeing you guys this week and we look forward to next year. Special thanks to California Trout and their Mt. Shasta crew.
Man we missed this trip last year. John I’m so glad you pulled it together, and it was really great to see those of you that made it. Those of you that missed out. Were gonna seriously cry if you don’t make it next year.
What a awesome river! I made it up twice so far this summer and hoping to get in at least one more trip. Chris thanks again. Andy always a pleasure! But the real hero of this trip is Rose, Great gift!!! She hired Rich Zellman www.steelheadwater.com for 2 days for Chris’ birthday and Rich was cool enough to throw in a third day for free. We all got to take advantage of Rich’s knowledge and he comes highly recommended by yours truly. I have been humbled here a few times and Rich strait up had the know how to put fish on my line. I was impressed, Thanks Rich!
My old friend Jonathan was hosting a ski racing camp in Mount Hood for disabled athletes. When he asked me to row a raft for them down the Deschutes I couldn’t say no. It was pleasure to row a raft for these guys, and holy sh#$ did we have some fun.
The dog days of summer. ha. This river is simply amazing! Check out these photos! Continue Reading →
The last couple weeks we have been giving excellent guide trips on the McCloud. The vast majority of the fish have been caught on the dry fly. After a dozen years of guiding this river we know where to be when and it is paying off. Continue Reading →
An opportunity at big summer steelhead is all I needed to hear. Sam Sickles of Steelhead Outfitters in Portland, OR. gave me a great spey casting lesson and had me throwing over some awesome water. He had a lot to teach me about swinging flies, so much I forgot everything I already knew. Thanks Sam, I’ll be seeing you again.
