5.3-4.10 Rising River

I had the pleasure and honor to guide at the Rising River Ranch. It was my first time and I thought of it as a mini Fall River. It was great fun, tremendously challenging and extremely rewarding. 12 foot leaders to 6x (sometimes 7x) were necessary to get them to grab my size 18 bwo , 16 pmd only on the finest of drifts. The most useful discovered tactic was to sit down chat about life, enjoy the remarkable vista, smell the clean brisk mt spring air, hear the birds sing and wait till trout noses once again resume their rise. All the essences of fly fishing are forced upon you here, its best just to get in the grove. Very very nice. I am itching to fish the Fall River now. Anyone want to come?
