Klamath River Steelhead and Salmon

It is already proving to be a great year for fishing on the Klamath River. We are seeing some good steelhead and salmon all the way up below the Iron Gate Dam. Its time to get on the calender. October on the McCloud

Back on the McCloud! What a treat. The fishing was good and we saw some nice big browns. The river has not yet shown any affects from the Bagley fire. Try and get a day on it this fall.

 

McCloud River 09.17&18.12

Well the fire hasn’t pushed all the fish out.  I havn’t seen the upper part of the lower McCloud yet but what I have seen is fishing well.  We caught fish on dries and this guy was sitting right were he was supposed to be.  We had a better than great time with this crew.  Great to see you guys.

 

She is ablaze and seemingly irreverent.

You would think there would be an effect as she burns upriver. As choppers lifted buckets of her clean glacial waters to drop on charred forest, mayflies emerged through a floating layer of ash into an apocalyptic world of strange beauty. Those that were too cautious were eaten by streaks of rainbows and browns. The balance was surreal. Continue Reading →

8.21.12 McCloud family outing!

The Sharer family has been fishing together with us for about 6 years. They are great fun and a joy to spend the day on the river with. Emma caught the most fish again and I was accused of favoring her in my guiding. Thanks to Jim Roberts for helping us out.
