Steelhead fishing is “AWESOME”

At Wild Waters Fly Fishing we are passionate about our Steelhead fishing.  A day like this is what we live for, we crushed it, and having my dad in the front of the boat made the experience all that much better.  When I was young I would steal his fishing vest and fly rod and head to the river.  I wonder if he ever thought it would be to his fishing benefit that I did…  Deep down, I think so…  Thanks Dad.

Klamath River Steelhead and Salmon

It is already proving to be a great year for fishing on the Klamath River. We are seeing some good steelhead and salmon all the way up below the Iron Gate Dam. Its time to get on the calender. 9.7.12 Klamath Salmon

Forever now known as Tory Salmon. By the time I hooked one he had hooked over ten and brought four to the bank. The Lower Klamath is fishing well as we saw some nice chrome bright ass kicking steelhead and some monster kings. I brought everything I needed to get into those famed half pounders, but we couldn’t find them.

06.06.12 Klamath River Fishing Report

Flows are very manageable and the Salmon Flies are making an appearance.  John hooked a couple of nice  adult Steelhead back to back that grabbed on the surface, both takes had him giggling.  Most fish were small, and Caddis hatches were much thicker than Stoneflies.  We expect to see some really fun drift boat fishing on the Klamath over the next few weeks.
