06.06.12 Klamath River Fishing Report

Flows are very manageable and the Salmon Flies are making an appearance.  John hooked a couple of nice  adult Steelhead back to back that grabbed on the surface, both takes had him giggling.  Most fish were small, and Caddis hatches were much thicker than Stoneflies.  We expect to see some really fun drift boat fishing on the Klamath over the next few weeks.

3.29.12 No cure for Steelhead fever

Last few weeks I’ve been on the river.  Sick with Steelhead fever.  No matter how many I farmed, caught, or photographed I still couldn’t shake the virus.  Now recent rains have brought the end of the season.  This fish, a highlight, ate a swung fly just after dawn.

02.08.12 Trinity River W/ Mike Hibbard

Tory and I treated ourselves to a day with the famous Mike Hibbard.  I use to guide the Trinity and Mike showed me everything I know, it was so great to be in his boat on a working day.  We fished our asses off, with no other boats around!!!  What a treat!!!  We saw some great steelhead, most of which wooped are butts plus 4 sea run Browns…  Check em out!!!!
