6.21.11 Summer Solstice on the Klamath

Summer Solstice on the Klamath River throwing the big bug aka Salmonflies until dark. One hour before dark, around 8 pm, there were millions of them everywhere. Super Cool. Happy Birthday Lindsay!!

6.18.11 McCloud River Fly Fishing.

6.3.11. Upper Sac

For a solid hour we had silly dry fly fishing. The water is high and swift but the fishing is pretty good in the pools. If you know your spots you can do really well right now. And No Mossbrae falls is not one of those spots.

Fun in the sun

Blue skies shining on me, nothing but blue skies do I see.
I love having a client list that I can call last minute and have them take advantage of some good fishing and a blue sky forecast. Winter is a tough time for fishing guides, the weather can blow out rivers, be too cold to tie knots and only few clients are brave enough to fish all day in the cold, wet weather we steelheaders cherish.
