The team at Wild Waters has been busy. Last week we’ve had some windy days with a substantial temperature drop, but still had some great trips. Most of our days are spent on the Upper and Lower Sacramento and the McCloud River. On the McCloud we have been mainly throwing dry flies. Mid-day yellow sallies and pmd’s are making the bite last throughout the day. Once the big goldens start dropping down from the trees around 5 pm the big rainbows turn to them and throwing the big bug can make for some awesome grabs. The Upper Sac is also fishing well with dry flies. Golden Stones everywhere!! Take a look at some great photos from last week. We so appreciate all the business and look forward to taking you fishing soon.

These were some beautiful days on the Klamath River. With the beautiful fall colors and plentiful fish early November 2012 was great yet again on the Klamath River. Check out these great shots from my recent trips.

Check out this big bow! Tory and I had to get a day in fishing, and with the recent success we have been having for some of these monster bows the Sac seemed like a viable option.
8.21.12 McCloud family outing!
Categories: Fishing Report
The Sharer family has been fishing together with us for about 6 years. They are great fun and a joy to spend the day on the river with. Emma caught the most fish again and I was accused of favoring her in my guiding. Thanks to Jim Roberts for helping us out.

Its time for some of the big bows to be caught. Aug. Sept and Oct. can be some of the best big fish fishing of the year on the Sacramento river. The water is still up high and we love fishing the caddis hatches at theses flows.

McCloud River Dry Fly July
Categories: Fishing Report
The last couple weeks we have been giving excellent guide trips on the McCloud. The vast majority of the fish have been caught on the dry fly. After a dozen years of guiding this river we know where to be when and it is paying off. Continue Reading →
6.8.12 Green Drakes on the McCloud

Perhaps my favorite hatch is our Green Drake hatch. They don’t come off by the millions like the Frying Pan but what these McCloud River bows will do for that bug is unreal. Truly magical dry fly fishing all day long. Continue Reading →

We celebrated Memorial Day on the McCloud by conquering some German and Scottish Browns. A symbolic gesture of our respect to battles won and lost before. Happy Memorial Day!
