Klamath River Fall Fishing Report

The fall season on the Klamath River has been phenomenal. Special thanks to our loyal clients and to our steelhead guides, Anthony Carruesco, Jim Roberts, Carl Mogerley, Andy Marx, Brian Slusser, Ellis Augustini, Matt Formento, Chuck Volckhausen and John Rickard. The Klamath has been good to us! Regardless, if we were swinging runs or side-drifting, the […]

First days of Fall in the State of Jefferson.

We had a strange start to the Fall Season this year with our beloved McCloud blowing out for the second time this year. We were on the river the day it turned brown, due to the mud slide on the Mud Creek drainage. That made national news and the footage online is jaw dropping. Damn, […]

State of Jefferson Fishing Report July 31st 2014.

The McCloud River has been left alone by most anglers and we have seen it slowly recover from a massive Mud Creek glacial silt flood. The water went from brown to green in a period of two weeks yet it has enough visibility to fish. Any steelhead fisherman would show up and see its color […]

Fishing Report.

The State of Jefferson has been fishing really well, not all day long, but in concentrated hatches. Summertime, is all about the half days and we highly recommend our guided half days on the Lower Sac, Upper Sac, McCloud, Rogue River and our Bass lakes. Flows have steadied on the Lower Sac and the fishing went […]

The team at Wild Waters has been busy. Last week we’ve had some windy days with a substantial temperature drop, but still had some great trips. Most of our days are spent on the Upper and Lower Sacramento and the McCloud River. On the McCloud we have been mainly throwing dry flies. Mid-day yellow sallies […]

Northern California Southern Oregon Fishing Report

Here in the great State of Jefferson, the fishing has been very good. Its June and the dry fly action is at its best. The snow melt has subsided and we are at our summertime low flows. Last week Wild Waters Fly Fishing saw nice hatches of green drakes, pmds, caddis, abundant golden stones and […]

McCloud River Fishing Report

The McCloud River continues to deliver good fishing with lots of surface action.  The golden stones are out thick and the fish are on them. I’ve been casting the Orvis Superfine fiberglass rod and its been a treat to catch some hard pulling fish on glass. Slow down and enjoy the river. A few bigger […]

Northern California & Southern Oregon (State of Jefferson) Fishing Report.

The team at Wild Waters Fly Fishing has been guiding everywhere lately. Fishing has been a mix between good and excellent, because of changing weather patterns and windy days. The hatches have been pretty thick as our windshields can attest. May has been all about the dry fly and its been a treat to fish […]

McCloud River Fishing

The McCloud River is fishing well with plenty of fish being caught on dry flies. We’ve seen some good hatches and it seems to be getting better everyday. Spring conditions.

Klamath Fishing Report.

The Klamath seems to always be a good bet. Sometimes you have to scrub and work hard to find them but this system is hard to beat. Anthony and Tom came up for a quick fish and struck steel.
