I recently spent a fabulous day driftboat fishing the mighty Klamath river with John. We fished a lesser traveled section away from the more crowded drift that many target. The result was, we saw only one other group of fishers all day, and caught many, bright, beautiful,fresh, wild steelheads. Although I fish for these creatures a lot, I was very impressed with Johns knowledge of the fishery and how to target these often allusive fish. The Klamath is such a large piece of water it would be very intimidating to try and figure out on my own. I even got some tips to improve my spey casting. This size river is perfectly suited for this style of fishing. I can’t imagine a better guide, or person for that matter, to spend a day or two on the river with.
