McCloud River Dry Fly Fishing 10.4 and 10.5.11
Categories: Fishing Report
Thanks again for coming out Charlie! We fished one day on The Nature Conservancys McCloud River Preserve hunting Big Browns and although we caught four of them the biggest one went about 14″. Day two we fished the hatch, PMD’s in the rain. The harder it rained the thicker the hatch.
Along with the fish, we had about a half dozen birds pick the fly up off the surface of the water. They all dropped it pretty quick. This one actuall was looped around the wing. (the hook was not in the bird) I snipped off the fly to make sure the hook didn’t poke him and released him. He flew away right from my hands, unharmed.
The dead bear hole does it again!
