Chuck, Keith and I had a meeting to discuss the future of Wild Waters Fly Fishing. Just your standard business meeting.
I knew that drift was going to stick a fish. I knew it was going to grab at that exact moment. I knew it was going to happen there and then. I set the hook knowing I was right. It was not knowledge or skill it was a brief moment of enlightenment.
Kim and Selena were determined and gave a good hard effort all day despite the 21 degree morning. We had to scrub every spot for that elusive winter steelhead. Finally, with only two more spots to try, “Set that!” Five fish in a row! Some days she makes you work for it.
The Roseville Orvis store is now promoting our guide service. We look forward to working together on a variety of trips, lessons, outings, classes and lectures. It was 17 degrees out there today and we never have had a harder time keeping the line from freezing. A great day of Winter fun!

Day Two. Lets all go fishing on the Rogue! Wild Waters Fly Fishing is putting a lot of focus on the Rogue River for 2012. We wanted to introduce the Orvis store managers to a great year-round fishery. Two days in a row without seeing any other anglers.
These guys bleed Orvis green. Wild Waters Fly Fishing Guide Service just became Orvis Endorsed this year. We wanted to show the store managers from San Francisco and San Jose why. I seldom need to catch one. …seldom. I really wanted to catch a fish today and almost hired Chuck or Keith. Instead, I had a great day with my girlfriend and loyal lab.
