With Winter officially just around the corner we end the “Spring Training” season of Winter Steelhead fishing. Heaters are out and working, waders and rain jacket have no leaks, and a new net, thats big. We love the Winter season cause its time to get our FISH ON.
Recent rains have pushed some fresh fish up into to the top ends of the Klamath and flows have dropped back down to low.
Chris and son George came out for their first ever Steelhead fishing experience. You guys did great!
Tory and I treated ourselves to a day with our good friend and legendary guide Mike Hibbard. So fun to be out on someone else’s boat for a change!
The Klamath river may be the best river to cut your teeth on steelheading. The fish are grabby and full of energy. What they lack in size they make up for in abundance. What a special river system.
The last day on the McCloud. November 15th. A day to say thanks and goodbye to a river I love. I’ll see you on April 27th 2013!!!
Now thats a great trip. Day 1 McCloud… Day 2 Klamath… Day 3 Upper Sac…
These were some beautiful days on the Klamath River. With the beautiful fall colors and plentiful fish early November 2012 was great yet again on the Klamath River. Check out these great shots from my recent trips. Now bring on the storms and big winter fish!!!!
A great moment in Steelhead fishing captured right here!
