Carl Mogerley

Carl’s passion for fly fishing has defined the better part of his life and has led him on a journey through the magical waters of the great State of Jefferson.  After moving to the town of McCloud nearly a decade ago and being introduced to her magical waters he fell in love and never looked back.  You can find Carl spending most of his spring and summer on the McCloud and Sacramento River and fall and winter chasing steelhead on the Klamath.  Hardly a day goes by where you can’t find him near water with a rod in hand. Carl’s as comfortable casting tiny dry flies to a rising redband as he is trying to coax a steelhead from the depths with a spey rod. A talented fly tier, often the steelhead flies he ties are as important to him as the fish willing to eat it.  The fabled Klamath river runs through his front yard and it’s as important as anything for him to share the value in protecting and caring for our rivers for the future so we can enjoy them forever.  His patience, personality and local knowledge makes him a good match from beginners and experienced anglers alike.
